Judith Judith by (swedish) Death Polka is a little like listening to Yanqui U.X.O. and Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret at the same time. It is a unique and timeless neo-classical-ambient-pop record that is as meaningful now as when it was composed. The enigmatic musical duo of Sam Murdock and Guillaume Lizotte are emotionally charged in a historical burlesque way. Judith Judith is an invented story about an orphaned girl named Judith who would have died in the Quebec Bridge tragedy over a century ago. The details are invented but the tragedy of the bridge collapse is real. The album originally came out in the summer of 2006 and it was always meant to be pressed on vinyl. This special edition is a tribute to history, to the music and the genius art of Julien Pacaud. The 12″ clear vinyl, limited to 275 hand numbered copies, includes a mysterious envelope with a CD, postcards and a (swedish) Death Polka church pamphlet-like fanzine with the piano score. So, now you have three distinct versions of the album, with different track listings on the CD, LP and download. This is the first co-release and collaboration between P572 and Label Obscura.

C’est un album néo-classique-pop-ambiant unique et intemporel, aussi significatif maintenant qu’au moment de sa composition. L’étrange duo musical composé de Sam Murdock et Guillaume Lizotte a toujours eu une fascination burlesque pour l’architecture, et Judith Judith raconte l’histoire inventée d’une fille orpheline qui serait décédée dans la tragédie du pont du Québec, il y a plus d’un siècle. Les détails sont inventés, mais l’effondrement du pont est réel. L’album, initialement sorti à l’été 2006, est disponible pour la première fois en vinyle transparent et édité à 275 exemplaires numérotés et assemblés à la main. Cette édition spéciale existe pour célébrer l’histoire, la musique et le génie visuel de Julien Pacaud. Le tout est accompagné d’une enveloppe mystérieuse incluant une carte postale, un code de download, une affiche, un fanzine Death Polka et la version CD des chansons. C’est un moment spécial et la première coparution et collaboration entre P572 et Label Obscura, qui se spécialise dans la réédition d’albums canadiens marquants des 30 dernières années.
